Violence in Society

What are the leading causes of violence in society and what do you think could be done about them?

Much of the violence in society is rooted in conflict between different ethnic groups. One only needs to read the daily news to notice that at the core of much of the civil unrest in many parts of the world stems from different ethnic groups fighting and trying to assert their beliefs over another group. Hate and disrespect for another person's values and customs proves again and again to be the source of conflict throughout history.
Education and knowing more about other peoples values is key to fixing this. The more you know about a neighbour the less likely you are to demonize them. Without education I see no improvement in social violence.

  1. It's so true that the violence we're seeing has a lot to do with differences between ethnic groups and that this is a main cause for violence within society. Another possible solution is finding common ground and starting from there. But really in the majority of issues education is a main factor.

  2. Great post your right, much of the violence in societies is rooted in conflict between different ethnic groups. Solutions is definitely education, when people are not exposed to different ethnics they will discriminate which will cause ethnics.
